Filming

Today Gabbi, Beth and I filmed some exterior shots, on the top floor of a car park in town. We wanted the setting to be different, and include some tall buildings in the background to show the contrast between the busy city and Beth being alone, as that is what the lyrics suggest. The weather was dark and gloomy, which is the effect we wanted to reflect the mood of the song.

While filming we came up with some more ideas that weren't on the anomatic story board. For example, we used a range of hand held shots. One of Beth standing alone in the middle of the car park where the camera circles her and moves slowly away. We thought this would be a good ending to the video as it looks quite dramatic, as if she is being abandoned. Another hand held shot we filmed was of Beth running away, so it looks as if she is being chased.

We filmed some close up, mid-shot, and long shot footage of Beth lip syncing, to add to the performance element of the video. We used those three shots to get a variation, so that when we come to edit the music video we have a choice and range of different shots to use.
